The 2014 Asian Boating Award nominations have officially been announced and a number of Phuket businesses have made the cut! Created by Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating magazines in 2005, the annual Asia Boating Awards recognizes the best of the maritime industry in Asia and internationally.
Right here in Phuket, Yacht Haven Marina Phuket and Ao Po Grand Marina are both competing in the Best Asian Marina of the Year category. Asia Marine, Boat Lagoon Yachting and Thailand Elite Yachting Phuket will face off in the Best Asia-based Charter Company of the Year category.
“Everyone in the global yachting industry, like many others, is looking to succeed in Asia,” says Glen Watson, Editor-in-Chief of Asia-Pacific Boating. “The annual Asia Boating Awards night provides well-deserved recognition of the tremendous efforts put forth by the industry’s best in Asia.”
In the Asian Regatta of the Year category the Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek will be contending against nine other regattas including Phuket King’s Cup Regatta and the Top of the Gulf Regatta.
“Thailand’s crystal clear water, great sailing days and eye for maritime industry advancement means our regattas are some of the best in Asia,” explains Cape Panwa Hotel Phuket Raceweek organizer, Byron Jones. “We are excited to compete against the best!”
