Thank you guys, I heard a slightly different idea and wanted to share, any scientist will tell you our bodies are 70% water, so our diet needs too reflect that, it can be very difficult in todays fast moving world to achieve that level of water, veg and salad intake, so I drink a green drink, its amazing and I now have energy like when I was a teenager :)

Well, Doris...a new challenge. We did the 6km and made it to the end. Now we need to train for the 10.5km (quarter marathon) in June at Laguna. Can we do it????? I think so. But, it's not really fair as I have to run twice as far as you as your legs are twice as long as mine.

Eat to Train mate, Dont Train to Eat!
Breakfast is important, but only in that it provides valuable carbohydrates for you to push yourself in training.
Alternatively, you can exercise before breakfast and then have breakfast after, but the intensity will be reduced in training.
Breakfast post training is the best way to recover and allow your body to become stronger for your next training session. It also keeps your metabolism higher and allows you to burn fat in between meals....always a good thing right??!!
Keep training hard mate and remember....Eat to Train DONT Train to Eat!

"....walking seems to be suiting me a lot better these days are my joints ache at times especially my knees….maybe theres a supplement i can take for my joints?
possibly darren from rpm has some advice?darren,,talk to me!"

Doris,
Happy to see you out there training, but yes, sometimes, joints dont deal too well, specifically our ankles and knees.

There has been some great evidence based research on "GLUCOSAMINE" which has been proved to assist in Cartilage re-generation and is supported with research in British Medical Journal (BMJ) 2001, and Archives of Internal Medicine with a meta-analysis in 2003 which demonstrated results with a high significant efficacy of glucosamine on all outcomes of knee osteoarthritis.

Glucosamine sulfate is a chemical found in the human body. It is used by the body to produce a variety of other chemicals that are involved in building tendons, ligaments, cartilage, and the thick fluid that surrounds joints.

Joints are cushioned by the fluid and cartilage that surround them. In some people with osteoarthritis, the cartilage breaks down and becomes thin. This results in more joint friction, pain, and stiffness. Researchers beleive that taking glucosamine supplements may either increase the cartilage and fluid surrounding joints or help prevent breakdown of these substances, or maybe both.

Research suggests that the “sulfate” part of glucosamine sulfate is also important. Sulfate is needed by the body to produce cartilage. This is one reason why researchers believe that glucosamine sulfate might work better than other forms of glucosamine such as glucosamine hydrochloride or N-acetyl glucosamine. These other forms do not contain sulfate.

Doris, You can easily purchase Glucosamine at any GNC store or any store specialising in nutritional products.

I hope this helps mate. Look fwd to seeing you out there training.
