You can make weight loss quicker and easier by increasing your metabolic rate and burning more calories – here’s how:
Aerobic Exercise
As well as the actual amount of calories burned during exercise – studies have shown that sustained, high-intensity exercise makes you burn more calories for several hours afterwards.
Try 30 minute sessions of heart rate raising exercise, such as vigorous walking, step aerobics, jogging or swimming, 3-4 times a week.

Encouragingly, the other day my friend informed me that this particular event is like the ‘Ironman’ of regular triathlons….great…..
But, I have been training hard although my diet was a bit lapse in April and I have been drinking too much.
The swim is fine, not overly concerned about that. I swam last week (Sunday) and posted a 1.8km time of about 29/30 mins. Not 100% sure as my watch broke a few days prior to that. Will be investing in a new one soon.
I believe I can do all three disciplines separately without too much of a struggle (possible exception of the bike and those hills), but putting them together is going to be interesting.
On Thursday, I ran 12-13km and it took me 1hr, 13 mins, which was a new PB (not overly quick, but not bad for a fat bloke).
Since then, I took the bike out on Saturday and attempted to go up Layan Hill (ha!). Failed miserably, but I did learn that I can walk up the hill faster than I can cycle so I will simply do that in the triathlon….
I also did an 8km run last night (Monday – 47mins) just to start the week off on the right foot.
Biking tonight, day off on Wednesday and then out on the bike on Thursday and a 1.8km swim on Friday. Nothing on Saturday and probably Sunday as my brother’s in town (perfect excuse!)
